AirKaren

Overview

AirKaren is an autonomous AI agent designed to advocate for travelers by confronting airline customer service departments. When passengers face flight delays, cancellations, overbookings, or lost baggage, AirKaren gathers case details via a conversational chat interface. The platform automatically identifies applicable passenger rights regulations, fills out claim forms, calls customer support hotlines, and manages follow-ups until compensation is secured. By automating dispute resolution, AirKaren eliminates the legal friction and time-consuming efforts typical of corporate claims.

What it does

• Analyzes passenger incident details through a conversational chat interface to build structured dispute claims.
• Cites statutory flight regulations such as EU261 and US DOT rules to establish legal eligibility.
• Files claims, submits receipts, and places automated voice calls to corporate support hotlines.
• Routes ambiguous or heavily contested claims into a human review queue for legal quality control.

Who it's for

• Frequent Airline Travelers & Commuters
• International Passengers Facing Language Barriers
• Busy Professionals Seeking Refund Claims
• Consumers Dealing with Lost Luggage & Delays

Why it works

• Autonomous voice and form-filling agents persistent through repetitive phone hold times and tedious web forms.
• Built-in statutory rule engine accurately calculates compensation eligibility based on verified flight delay and cancellation data.
• Hybrid human-in-the-loop review queue prevents weak automated appeals from being dismissed by airline support teams.
• Zero upfront consumer cost during beta lowers adoption barriers for travelers claiming airline refunds.

Founder story

AirKaren was founded in 2026 by Jai Glazer, Emile, and Max Beyer—a team of university students from Harvard, Northwestern, UIUC, and Vanderbilt. Frustrated by how airlines intentionally design customer service processes to exhaust passengers with hold times, form-filling, and legal jargon, the founders built AirKaren. The platform leverages AI agents to cite regulations, persist through corporate bureaucracy, and fight for passenger rights automatically.

Comparison overview

• AirKaren operates as an autonomous AI agent that calls support hotlines and files claims directly for free during beta.
• Traditional claims services like AirHelp charge substantial success fees (often 35-50%) and rely on manual claims processing rather than real-time AI automation.
