Calliope

Overview

Calliope is a private enterprise AI and development workbench designed to let teams build, run, and govern AI workflows securely within their own cloud perimeter. It provides an isolated AI environment complete with multi-model IDEs, autonomous research agents, and data tools. By keeping sensitive data entirely inside the organization's VPC, it eliminates compliance bottlenecks and prevents vendor lock-in.

What it does

• Provides an integrated AI development workbench featuring purpose-built IDEs, notebooks, and multi-agent terminals.
• Executes autonomous background agents that plan, code, and execute tasks while keeping all changes staged for human review.
• Connects internal data sources and file managers to run natural-language queries without exposing proprietary data externally.
• Enforces strict real-time policy controls across model providers, budget limits, user permissions, and rate limits.

Who it's for

• Data Scientists
• Software Developers
• DevOps Engineers
• Security Researchers

Why it works

• Keeps 100 percent of proprietary data and code securely inside the organization's private cloud infrastructure or VPC.
• Offers flexible multi-model backend routing across leading providers without locking teams into a single supplier.
• Bundles hundreds of pre-configured data science packages and tools to eliminate repetitive environment setup friction.
• Enforces real-time policy and security governance to satisfy rigorous compliance demands in regulated industries.

Founder story

Calliope was created to bridge the gap between moving fast with artificial intelligence and maintaining strict enterprise data control. Recognizing that developers waste weeks setting up secure AI infrastructure while security teams struggle with visibility, the founders built a unified, self-hosted workbench that keeps data entirely within the organization's private perimeter.
