Decisions

Overview

Decisions is a cloud-based intelligent process automation (IPA) and business process management (BPM) platform designed for mid-market and enterprise organizations. The platform combines a visual workflow engine, dynamic form builders, process mining, and a robust business rules engine within a web-based, no-code environment. By streamlining cross-system integrations, data mapping, and automated approvals, Decisions enables technical and business teams to operationalize complex decision logic and workflow automation across diverse enterprise environments.

What it does

• Automates complex business logic using a visual, drag-and-drop rule and workflow design engine.
• Builds dynamic web forms, dashboards, and interactive user portals without writing custom code.
• Integrates external databases, legacy systems, and modern SaaS tools through flexible REST API connections.
• Tracks process performance and operational bottlenecks using integrated process mining and execution reporting.

Who it's for

• Enterprise Process Automation Engineers
• Healthcare & Financial Compliance Teams
• Chief Technology & Information Officers
• Business Operations & Operations Analysts

Why it works

• Pure web-based HTML5 execution model eliminates the need for browser plugins or client installations.
• Combined workflow engine and rules designer simplifies managing highly regulated decisioning logic.
• No-code interface allows non-technical business analysts to construct and update operational flows.
• Flexible deployment options support both managed cloud environments and self-hosted infrastructure.

Founder story

Decisions was founded in 2010 in Chesapeake, Virginia, by Carl Hewitt, Heath Oderman, and Kevin Lindquist. Seeing that legacy enterprise workflow tools were overly rigid and required extensive developer code, the founders set out to build a flexible visual process engine. The company expanded globally, secured Series B funding led by Aldrich Capital Partners, and was later acquired by TecnoSpeed to scale its process orchestration footprint.

Comparison overview

• Decisions focuses heavily on deep enterprise business rules and complex logic automation, whereas platforms like Airtable concentrate on collaborative relational database spreadsheets.
• Decisions provides an integrated no-code rules engine and process mining tools out of the box, unlike lightweight task management platforms that require external add-ons for rule evaluation.
