Founder story

Founded in early 2026 by developer Jacob Counsell, LaunchChair was engineered to resolve the 'prompt fatigue' and structural drift common in AI product development. Realizing most AI-generated MVPs get messy because raw instructions are too vague, Jacob built a gated, spec-first planning layout that keeps coding agents rigidly anchored to real market wedges.

Alternatives

Comparison overview

Unlike code boilerplates or starter kits like ShipFast that supply a code shell but leave execution completely vague, LaunchChair overlays a strategic planning engine.
It shifts past single-prompt workspace generators by deploying a phase-gated spec framework, preventing token waste and codebase slop.
Additionally, its built-in agent API and MCP bridges allow external local terminal systems to process product milestones natively.
