Ethan Galstad originally created the open-source NetSaint monitoring tool in 1999, which was later renamed Nagios Core. To deliver enterprise-grade support, graphical web management, and commercial capabilities, Galstad founded Nagios Enterprises in 2007 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The company launched Nagios XI to provide large organizations with commercial dashboards, automated wizards, and scalable infrastructure monitoring.
