OpsBase

Overview

OpsBase (rebranded as Ideagen Smartforms) is a cloud-native business operations platform engineered to digitize manual safety tracking, workplace checklists, and compliance reporting. The platform replaces fragmented paper trails and Excel sheets with structured mobile forms, automated workflows, and corrective action assignment pathways. By offering a shared interface accessible via desktop or tablet, it ensures frontline teams can rapidly report field events, manage inspections, and resolve non-conformances immediately. It primarily serves multi-site operational industries, including manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, and retail facilities management.

Founder story

OpsBase was expanded under the leadership of software executive Giles Welch, who stepped in as CEO in 2019 to refine operations for deskless employees. Recognizing that field teams were significantly isolated from core enterprise business suites due to clumsy desk-bound software architectures, they engineered an agile, mobile-first operations hub. The platform grew quickly within the EHS space, leading to a successful £1.9 million buyout by compliance leader Ideagen in July 2021.
