Puzzle

Overview

Puzzle is an AI-native accounting platform designed to modernize traditional bookkeeping workflows for high-growth startups, small businesses, and accounting firms. By operating as an agentic general ledger rather than a static rules-based system, Puzzle uses autonomous accounting agents to sync financial transaction context across standard startup banking, payment, and payroll stacks. The platform maintains simultaneous cash and accrual systems, automating up to 98% of categorization workloads and drastically cutting month-end close delays so founders can access real-time financial metrics.

What it does

• Automates 90-98% of transaction categorizations using multi-source context tracking without legacy hard-coded rules
• Maintains simultaneous cash and accrual basis records to handle complex, GAAP-compliant financial accounting dynamically
• Executes autonomous month-end close checks using dedicated agent workflows to flag transaction anomalies and cross-reconcile general ledgers
• Generates continuous, real-time metrics for cash positions, operational burn rates, revenue recognition timelines, and runway forecasts
• Supports multiplayer operations by partitioning isolated workspaces for multiple clients under professional accounting firm controls

Who it's for

• Startup Founders
• Accounting Firms
• CFOs and Finance Directors
• Venture-Backed SMBs

Why it works

• Agentic Ledger Processing: Shifts accounting logic from rigid manual matching rules to predictive AI categorization agents that improve over time.
• Dual-Method Architecture: Runs cash flow tracking and complex investor accrual modeling concurrently without manual spreadsheet imports.
• Continuous Closing Power: Cuts time-draining month-end reconciliation cycles by up to 50% via automated anomaly scanning tools.
• Frictionless Stack Ingestion: Integrates deeply with modern digital corporate cards, payment rails, and payroll setups to pull high-context data tags.
• Governed Human Control: Ensures zero unapproved adjustments go to the official ledger by leaving ultimate control and review choices with authorized personnel.

Founder story

Puzzle was established to bridge the massive disconnect between modern fast-paced software tools and the static, late-reporting patterns of traditional accounting platforms. Seeing that fast-moving startup executives were operating blindly for weeks waiting for multi-step monthly closing statements to complete, the technical founders engineered an agent-driven core capable of compiling compliant books at software speed.
