Founder story

Ramani was co-founded in 2020 by technology leaders Iain Usiri and Calvin Usiri alongside their team in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Witnessing the extensive manual friction, lack of data visibility, and severe working capital shortages blocking micro-distributors across Africa, they engineered a cloud-native fix. The company successfully built an inclusive point-of-sale ecosystem to digitize local logistics channels, quickly expanding to raise multi-million dollar international backing.

Comparison overview

• Unlike horizontal sales tracking tools that focus exclusively on modern Western retail layouts, Ramani is architected directly for African micro-distribution environments.
• It shifts past standalone inventory management programs by connecting day-to-day point-of-sale usage logs with direct access to credit lines.
• Furthermore, its unified interface embeds natively with popular channels like WhatsApp to enable operators to process procurement requests without downloading distinct systems.
