Resurf

Overview

Resurf is a personal context library and quick capture app for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. It allows users to instantly save notes, links, images, PDFs, and voice memos into a unified inbox via keyboard shortcuts or drag-and-drop. Storing everything locally with private iCloud sync, it enables users to hand off their captured context directly to AI tools through MCP and CLI integrations.

What it does

• Captures notes, links, images, PDFs, and voice memos instantly via a simple menu bar shortcut.
• Organizes captured content into custom spaces, tags, and stacks starting from a unified inbox.
• Stores all data locally on the device with private iCloud sync rather than third-party clouds.
• Integrates directly with AI coding agents and tools via Model Context Protocol (MCP) and CLI.
• Provides a distraction-free native Reader Mode and built-in PDF viewer for consuming captured content.

Why it works

• Minimizes friction with an instant, native Mac capture shortcut that never interrupts the user's active workflow.
• Keeps knowledge local and private without relying on scattered, web-based bookmarking tools or cloud servers.
• Connects local context directly to AI workflows using MCP, removing the need for manual copy-pasting.
• Functions as a fully native application rebuilt in Swift, ensuring high speed and low battery consumption.

Founder story

Resurf was built in 2026 by Deep Lakhani, an independent design engineer. Recognizing that ideas and links were getting lost across scattered tools, he built Resurf as a native Mac app to centralize personal context and seamlessly connect that organized knowledge to AI workflows.
