Founder story

Schoology was founded in 2009 by Jeremy Friedman, Ryan Hwang, and Tim Trinidad while studying at Washington University in St. Louis. Developed inside an entrepreneurship course to improve on clunky, non-collaborative college systems, the team moved to New York City to tackle systemic K-12 operational fragmentation. The company was strategically acquired by PowerSchool in 2019.
