ShipFast

Overview

ShipFast is a full-stack Next.js boilerplate and developer starter kit designed to accelerate the time-to-market for software products. The codebase comes pre-integrated with crucial SaaS plumbing including user authentication, Stripe webhooks, multi-provider email systems, and pre-designed Tailwind CSS UI components. By packaging repetitive structural setup configurations into a singular forkable template, it enables engineers and indie hackers to bypass backend architecture overhead and go from idea to deployment in hours.

Founder story

Founded in August 2023 by serial solo entrepreneur Marc Lou in Amsterdam, Netherlands, ShipFast was born out of personal development fatigue. Having launched dozens of micro-SaaS utilities over subsequent years, Marc grew tired of spending the first two days of every single hackathon configuring duplicate API routes, auth modules, and Stripe integration keys. He packaged his private starter workspace into a commercial repository, triggering a widespread meta-trend of programmatic builder kits across the indie creator economy.

Alternatives

• Open SaaS
• MakerKit

Comparison overview

• Unlike corporate visual development sandboxes or open-source meta-frameworks like Refine that isolate capabilities to dashboard grids, ShipFast packages the full outbound consumer landscape natively.
• It sets itself apart from open-source alternatives by providing pre-built conversion landing components tailored for indie developer launches.
• Additionally, its one-time payment structure avoids the recurring platform-as-a-service infrastructure fees required by competing cloud boilerplate services.
