Tamamon was created in 2026 by solo indie developer Jason Jeong. Spending entire days coding inside the Claude Code CLI environment, Jeong wanted a lighthearted desktop companion to reflect his daily engineering output rather than another analytical metric dashboard. He built Tamamon as a privacy-focused macOS app that transforms local terminal activity into a virtual pet ecosystem.
