Tempus AI

Overview

Tempus AI is a healthcare technology company that utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze multimodal clinical and molecular data. It provides precision medicine services, including genomic testing and diagnostic tools, to help clinicians make data-driven treatment decisions in oncology, cardiology, radiology, and mental health. The platform also accelerates drug discovery and research for life sciences partners.

What it does

• Conducts genomic sequencing and diagnostic testing to provide actionable insights for personalized patient care.
• Links clinical records, imaging, and molecular data into a unified platform to support real-time clinical decisions.
• Provides AI-enabled tools for life sciences companies to run more efficient, targeted drug research and clinical trials.
• Offers an analytical 'operating system' for healthcare providers to streamline data integration and patient management.
• Develops and deploys predictive AI models to identify patient risks, such as atrial fibrillation, using clinical data like ECGs.

Who it's for

• Oncologists & Clinicians
• Life Sciences & Pharma Companies
• Academic Medical Centers
• Health Systems

Why it works

• Multimodal data integration allows for a comprehensive view of patient health, combining genetic, clinical, and imaging data for superior accuracy.
• Scalable diagnostic infrastructure provides real-time, evidence-based support for complex diseases like cancer and heart conditions.
• Deep research partnerships with major medical institutions accelerate the development of personalized treatment pathways.
• Proprietary 'data moat' generated from a massive library of de-identified patient records continuously improves the efficacy of AI-driven clinical models.
• Dual-revenue model across diagnostics and data insights creates financial stability and high growth potential within the precision medicine market.

Founder story

Tempus was founded in 2015 by Eric Lefkofsky in Chicago, Illinois. Motivated by the challenge of harnessing data to improve patient outcomes in complex diseases, Lefkofsky built a platform that enables precision medicine by synthesizing vast, disparate medical datasets. The company has since grown into a public entity listed on the NASDAQ.
