The desktop app that unifies all your apps, accounts, and workflows into one beautiful dashboard.
Unifies multiple Gmail, Outlook, and Office 365 accounts in one place. Organizes 1,000+ web apps (Slack, Notion, WhatsApp) into a permanent sidebar. Provides 'Shift Workspaces' to organize apps and tabs by project or client. Features a 'Unified Search' to find messages or files across all connected accounts. Includes a dedicated 'Apps Directory' for one-click integration of popular SaaS tools.
Focus: Reduces the 'digital clutter' of having 50 browser tabs open. Context Switching: Toggling between accounts (e.g., Personal vs Work Gmail) is instant and seamless. Performance: Built on Chromium, so it supports all standard Chrome extensions while optimizing RAM usage. Organization: Workspaces allow users to separate their life by 'client' or 'project' rather than by 'app'.

Shift is a productivity-focused desktop browser and application manager designed for people who juggle multiple email accounts and web apps. It eliminates the chaos of tab-overload by organizing apps (like Slack, Gmail, Trello, and Notion) into a sidebar, allowing users to toggle between accounts instantly without logging in and out. It’s built on Chromium, offering a high-performance workspace that streamlines focus and reduces context-switching.
Founded in 2016 by Toby Bowen and a team of developers at Redbrick (an app discovery company) in Victoria, Canada. They were frustrated by the inefficiency of the traditional browser for professional work—specifically the difficulty of managing multiple email accounts. They built Shift as an internal project that quickly exploded into a global brand.
