Ventorah

Overview

Ventorah is a web-based aerodynamic simulation platform that brings computational fluid dynamics directly into the browser. It allows engineers, designers, and students to drop in 3D models and instantly run browser-based wind tunnel simulations. By leveraging advanced cloud solvers, it streams back real-time streamlines, pressure fields, lift, and drag data. The platform eliminates the high hardware requirements and expensive licensing barriers traditionally associated with aerodynamic testing.

What it does

• Runs browser-based computational fluid dynamics simulations using uploaded 3D CAD files like STL and OBJ formats.
• Streams real-time aerodynamic visualizations including streamlines, pressure maps, velocity vectors, and surface forces.
• Calculates critical metrics such as lift and drag coefficients dynamically as test parameters change.
• Democratizes access to high-performance fluid mechanics tools without requiring heavy local hardware workstations or costly enterprise software licenses.

Who it's for

• Aerospace Engineers
• Mechanical Engineers
• Product Designers
• Engineering Students

Why it works

• Runs completely inside web browsers without requiring complex local software installations.
• Lowers financial barriers by eliminating expensive traditional CFD workstation licenses.
• Provides instant visual feedback and interactive stream data for rapid design iterations.
• Streamlines preliminary design validation workflows before committing to physical prototyping.

Founder story

Ventorah was built as a pet project by an independent creator aiming to make advanced aerodynamic simulation accessible to everyone. Frustrated by the steep learning curves and heavy hardware requirements of traditional engineering solvers, the developer created a browser-native virtual wind tunnel to streamline fluid dynamics testing.

Alternatives

• ANSYS Fluent
