Founder story

Omar Tawakol had already built and sold a massive data company to Oracle, but he noticed a lingering inefficiency in corporate life: meetings were black holes where brilliant ideas were discussed and immediately forgotten. In 2016, he teamed up with tech veterans to found Voicea (initially Rizio Inc). They built EVA, an AI assistant designed to turn spoken conversations into searchable, actionable digital text. The platform was so effective that Cisco acquired it in 2019 for tens of millions to natively integrate the AI into Webex.
