Waldo

Overview

Waldo is a specialized mobile test automation platform that allows engineering and QA teams to run automated tests without writing a single line of script. It features a unique visual browser that records user flows and automatically identifies bugs and regressions by analyzing visual signals. Acquired by Tricentis in 2023, it is a key player in the shift toward 'No-Code' DevOps and automated quality assurance.

What it does

• Allows users to create end-to-end mobile tests by simply interacting with their app in a visual browser.
• Features an 'Automatic Repair' engine that updates tests when the app's UI changes.
• Provides real-time bug identification using visual comparison signals.
• Automates the testing of complex flows including logins, deep links, and notifications.
• Integrates with CI/CD pipelines to run tests on every code commit.

Who it's for

• Mobile Developers
• QA Engineers
• Product Managers
• Growth Teams

Why it works

• Speed: Reduces the time to create a test suite from weeks to hours.
• Accessibility: Empowers non-technical team members to build and maintain high-fidelity tests.
• Maintenance: Solves the 'fragile test' problem by automatically adapting to UI changes.
• Consolidation: Now part of the Tricentis ecosystem, giving users access to a global enterprise test stack.

Founder story

Founded in 2018 by Laurent Sigal and Amine Bellakrid in Brooklyn, New York. The founders realized that while web testing had modernized, mobile testing was still stuck in the era of fragile scripts and manual labor. They built Waldo to be the 'Simplest mobile testing tool on Earth'.
