Founder story

Workable was founded in June 2012 by tech innovators Nikos Moraitakis and Spyros Magiatis in Athens, Greece. Launched in the midst of the Greek government-debt crisis, the co-founders set out from a tiny office to engineer software tailored specifically to help small and medium-sized businesses compete fairly for global talent. They built a flexible cloud applicant tracker that gained rapid traction, enabling the company to expand its headquarters to Boston and secure backing from top-tier private equity funds.
